New Jersey curb painting questions
Straight answers about curb address painting in New Jersey.
Cost and booking
How much does it cost to have a curb number painted?
It's $100 per curb, and multiple curbs get a reduced rate. Send your address and tell us how many curbs you have.
Do I have to be home?
No. Tell us the address and anything we should know. You can be at work while we paint.
How do I book?
Fill out our request form with your address, town and number of curbs. If we can do the job, we'll email you your price and timing to confirm.
Do you offer reduced rates for multiple curbs?
Yes. Multiple curbs get a reduced rate. HOAs and commercial sites can send everything in one message.
Can my neighbors and I sign up together?
Yes. Multiple curbs get a reduced rate, so signing up together lowers your price per curb. Have one person send a request and list the other addresses in the notes. We'll confirm with each neighbor before painting their curb.
When do I confirm?
If we can do the job, we email you your price and timing after you send a request. We don't paint until you confirm.
Curb painting you can trust
Is curb painting required in New Jersey?
We're a private business, not a town program, and we won't tell you it's required. Your town may have its own rules for numbers on the building, so check with them if you're unsure.
How do I avoid a curb painting scam?
Some areas have reported people who paint without asking, claim the town requires it or demand cash on the spot. Before paying anyone, get the price up front and check any claim about a requirement with your town. We only paint after you request it and confirm.
Will you ever paint my curb without asking?
No. We only paint after you request it and confirm your price and timing.
The number itself
Can you paint any house number?
Yes, including house numbers with a letter, like 12A. It's always black on a white background, with no special designs, colors, names or logos. That keeps every curb easy to read.
What will it look like?
Black numbers on a white background, every time. See real examples in our gallery.
Can I choose a color or a custom design?
No. We don't do special designs. Every curb gets black numbers on a white background, because that's the easiest to read.
Where on the curb does it go?
Usually near the driveway or front walk, on the face of the curb where it can be read from the road. We choose the spot based on your curb and what tends to block it.
How long will it last?
That depends on traffic, plows, salt and sun. We use weather-resistant exterior paint, but road-edge paint wears over time. We can repaint it when it fades.
Can you paint over an old number?
Usually, yes. We clean away loose paint and cover the old number with a fresh base. A photo by email helps us confirm that.
New Jersey specifics
Is it legal to paint my number on the curb in New Jersey?
Rules are set locally and vary from town to town. Some New Jersey municipalities, such as Burlington Township, publish standards for curb numbers, and painting a curb without authorization can be a problem in others. Check with your town or HOA before you book, and tell us about any rule you find. Our terms have more.
What if my street has no curb?
Plenty of New Jersey roads don't. Some homes have a concrete driveway apron or a short section of curb that can carry a number. Email us a photo and we'll tell you honestly if it will work.
Can you paint Belgian block curbs?
Block has joints and a rough face, so results vary. Email us a photo and we'll be upfront about whether a clean number is possible.
Do you paint in winter?
Paint needs a dry surface and suitable temperatures, so cold, wet spells can delay work. Request any time and we'll schedule the first good stretch.
Which parts of New Jersey do you cover?
All 21 counties, across North Jersey, Central Jersey, the Shore and South Jersey. Check your town on our map.
Does a curb number replace the number on my house?
No. It adds to it. Many New Jersey towns have their own rules for numbers on the building, so keep yours in place and easy to see.
Do you paint at the Jersey Shore?
Yes, including Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May counties. Rental owners can book around their calendars. Salt air and sand can wear paint faster, so older numbers may need repainting sooner.
Will plows and road salt damage the number?
Over time, they can. Road-edge paint takes a beating in a Jersey winter, especially on busy streets. When yours fades, we can repaint it.
HOAs and commercial sites
Does every owner in our HOA have to sign up?
That's up to your board and governing documents. We can price a full community program or a smaller group of homes.
Can you work around our business hours?
Tell us when traffic is lightest at your site, and we'll plan around it as far as we can.
Do you paint fire lanes or parking lot lines?
No. We paint address numbers only. Fire lane markings and lot striping follow their own rules and belong with a striping contractor.
